Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 8, 2025
Last Updated: June 23, 2026
Welcome to Qol, operated by Qol Inc, a Delaware corporation ("Qol", "we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website, mobile and web applications, and related services (the "Service"). By using Qol, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who We Are
Qol provides AI-powered language tutoring designed to help users improve speaking confidence and real-world conversation skills through voice-based interaction. If you have questions, contact us at support@useqol.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information necessary to provide, improve, and secure the Service.
a. Account Information
When you create or use an account, we may collect your email address, authentication information, account identifiers, language preferences, onboarding choices, learning goals, account settings, and support communications.
b. Voice, Speech, and Learning Data
When you use voice features, your audio input is processed to generate AI tutor responses. Speech may be converted into text transcripts, analyzed to produce feedback and scores, and used to update your vocabulary, learning progress, session history, and practice plan.
We may store session transcripts, user utterance audio, tutor replay audio, tutor audio paths, vocabulary records, learning state, usage limits, streak information, and session results to operate and improve the Service.
AI-generated responses and feedback are produced automatically and may not always be accurate.
This data may be processed by trusted providers including OpenAI. Session data may be stored using Supabase to support learning progress.
c. Usage Data
We may collect information about how you interact with the Service, including device type, operating system, browser or app version, IP address, pages or screens viewed, button taps, session duration, performance diagnostics, error logs, and feature usage.
d. Payment Data
Payments are processed by Stripe, RevenueCat, the Apple App Store, or Google Play. Qol does not store full payment card details. We may store subscription status, plan tier, renewal state, customer identifiers, receipt or entitlement metadata, and billing events needed to provide paid features.
e. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies, local storage, analytics, and diagnostics tools to provide sign-in, measure product performance, understand feature use, detect errors, improve reliability, and protect the Service.
f. Notifications
Qol currently supports local scheduled reminders on your device. These reminders may use Expo and platform notification APIs from Apple or Google, but we do not currently collect a remote push token for these reminders. If we later enable remote push notifications, we may collect a device push token and will use it only for reminders, streak updates, account messages, or similar Service-related notifications.
